Get ready, this is a blog of epic proportions. It only seems fit for the biggest wedding I have ever experienced!
In July this year I was lucky enough to photograph another English wedding. Vastly different from last years London wedding, this one took place in the amazing Down County Hall in Hertfordshire. What a gorgeous place! It felt very extravagant checking in for the 3 day event.
Now I have known the bride, Magdaline (affectionately known as Mags by us Aussies) for many years now. Those who know and love Mags know that she doesn’t do anything by halves. But even with her track record I was astonished by the detail that went into this huge event.
It all kicked off the night before the wedding with a lavish dinner, complete with amusements for the kids and fairy floss to end off the night.
The wedding day saw a very early start for all of the girls in the bridal party. Everyone was in high spirits as the festivities began. There were traditional greek rituals for both the bride and groom before the sweet, heartfelt ceremony. After the ceremony the guests enjoyed drinks and canapes on the lawn, followed by a 3 course meal at the reception. Now this wonderful night didn’t end here. It was only just beginning!
A casino was set up which raised funds for Young Epilepsy, a fabulous school that is attended by one of Mags’ daughters. This provided great entertainment for the guests before the party started in the main hall with greek performers and plenty of dancing!
From the bottom of my heart I thank Mags and Mat for trusting me with this amazing job. I am so very happy for you both and watching the official joining together of your families was incredibly beautiful. I wish you a long liftetime of happiness together. And hope to see you down here in Oz one day soon! xxxx
